The "Lost" Windham Hill Winter Solstice Album?
I admit I found this album well after beginning my cataloging. It may have originally been released by Bartlesmann in Germany only. Perhaps it was released in USA later? The tracks on the album are original, commissioned by then Windham Hill Group-leader Jonathan Miller (who later went on to RCA Victor when BMG merged Windham Hill and Private Music into Victor). This album features more familiar Windham Hill Artists, with Winston, Ackerman, McCandless, Story and Nightnoise the prominent artists from the Classic era.
This would be the final album produced by a BMG executive. In 2001 BMG made the decision to keep the Windham Hill collections artistically managed by people who were part of the label during its independent years (namely Ó Domhnaill and Atkinson).
